January 12 (Renewables Now) - German renewable energy asset manager Luxcara GmbH has acquired a 10% stake in the 731.5-MW Borssele III & IV offshore wind complex in the Dutch North Sea from Dutch marine contractor Van Oord.

Van Oord completed the sale of its 10% interest in the Blauwwind consortium which developed and built the wind farm at the end of December 2021, the firms said on Wednesday. The deal was finalised in a speedy manner with due diligence and negotiations taking only two months, they noted.

The wind farm consisting of 77 turbines of 9.5 MW became fully operational last year. Van Oord delivered the balance of plant works, including design, construction and installation of the foundations and inter-array cables. Through the divestment it is recycling capital for future projects.

Luxcara said the acquisition gives its investors access to a cash-yielding project in the sought-after offshore wind asset class.

Financial details were not provided.
