January 2 (Renewables Now) - Norway-based Kitron ASA (FRA:KP5) has secured contracts to develop test systems and produce electronic modules for control systems for offshore wind related high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology.

The orders, worth over NOK 75 million (USD 8.7m/EUR 7.9m), were placed by a leading company from the renewable energy sector, CEO Peter Nilsson said in the statement last week. "This also confirms our ability to supply advanced technical services," he added.

The electronics manufacturing services company plans to begin deliveries in the second quarter of the year. The work related to the orders will be carried out at the company's facility in Norway, it said.
