Kit Carson Electric approves PPA for PPC Solar's 1.5-MW project in New Mexico
Dec 1, 2011 - US solar project developer PPC Solar said Wednesday that the board of Kit Carson Electric Cooperative had given the go-ahead to a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for PPC's 1.5-MW project in Taos county, in the US state of New Mexico.
The provided capacity is in direct current (DC).
PPC's project will include some 5,400 solar panels, estimated to produce total of 2,985,859 kWh in their first year of work. According to the developer's calculations, the facility will offset 21,535 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions for a year.
The PPA is pending the green light by the Tri-State Generation and Transmission, which is to consider the deal on December 7, and permits by Taos county by the end of 2011.
