Juwi completes 11.5 MW solar farms in France, Japan

Jul 5, 2013 - German renewable projects developer Juwi AG said on Wednesday it has completed two solar power plants in France and Japan with a combined capacity of 11.5 MW.

In southern France, Juwi has installed a 10.5 MW plant, Mios 2. The facility is seen as an expansion of Mios 1 which was connected with the power grid in 2011. The two plants have a total capacity of 19 MW.

Juwi's new plant is in line with the strategy of France to add further 1 GW of solar capacity this year. By 2020, France plans to raise its solar capacity to 5.4 GW, from 3.2 GW in 2012, Juwi said.

In Kumamoto, on the Japanese island of Kyushu, Juwi connected the 1 MW PV roof plant Bear 2. The 4,088 solar modules will produce 1 million kWh green electricity per year which is enough for 300 households, Juwi said.
