Juhl Wind wins USD-12.6m govt funding for 20 MW wind farm in Minnesota
(ADPnews) - Dec 2, 2010 - US wind farm developer Juhl Wind (OTC:JUHL) yesterday said it had received a USD-12.6-million (EUR 9.6m) stimulus grant for its newly installed 20 MW Grand County wind farm in Minnesota.
The company said it would use the funding, awarded by the US Treasury Department, to make partial payments of construction financing obtained for the project.
The wind farm will be owned through a joint venture between local farmer owners and institutional partners.
The company said it was building several other community projects in Minnesota, including its Adams and Danielson wind farms with total a project cost of USD 86 million.
Juhl Wind CEO Dan Juhl said the company had received US stimulus grants for a number of farms that were installed or under construction this year and in the coming year. The funds provided some 30% of the total financing required for each project.
