John Laing Environmental Assets Group Ltd (LON:JLEN) said today it has bought the 2.6-MW Moel Moelogan 1 wind farm near Llanrwst, Conwy in northern Wales.
This is a follow-on acquisition to the purchase of the 11.7-MW Moel Moelogan 2 wind farm, located at the same site, that JLEN announced in April.
The London-listed investor in environmental infrastructure projects bought the Moel Moelogan 1 facility for GBP 3 million (USD 3.9m/EUR 3.5m) in cash, including working capital and the repayment of a project finance loan at completion.
The wind farm consists of two Bonus-1.3 turbines and has been operational since 2003. It is accredited under the Non Fossil Fuel Obligation (NFFO) scheme, the UK government's renewables support instrument before the Renewables Obligation (RO).
