Japan Benex Corporation announced this week that it has started operation of a 2.4-MW rooftop solar array for logistics facility DPL Kasugai in Aichi prefecture.
The system, the capacity of which is given in direct current (DC), was built atop the logistics centre and it is Benex’s 10th roof-rented photovoltaic (PV) array. DPL Kasugai is part of Japan’s Daiwa House Industry Co Ltd (TYO:1925).
With 5,252 solar modules, the Kasugai solar system has an estimated annual power generation of some 2.75 million kWh, enough to meet the demand of around 900 local households.
Hanwha Q Cells Japan Co Ltd supplied the plant’s solar panels, while SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92) provided the needed power conversion system (PCS) unit.
With the operation of Kasugai, Japan Benex now has 26 operational power plants with a combined capacity of approximately 25 MW. Of these, 16.3 MW are roof-rented PV arrays.
