June 24 (Renewables Now) - Italian energy company ERG SpA (BIT:ERG) announced on Friday the commissioning of a wind farm in Germany with a total capacity of 21.6 MW.

The Linda wind park was acquired in January 2018 by ERG Windpark Beteiligungs GmbH and developed in the German region of Saxony – Anhalt. According a previous press release, ERG has invested around EUR 30 million (USD 34.2m) in the plant.

Under the terms of the auction held on May 1, 2018, the wind facility has a 20-year period, sold at a EUR 65 per MWh. It has an estimated annual output of 50 GWh, enough to offset around 39,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year.

After the wind park was brought online, ERG’s installed capacity in Germany reached 238 MW, the Italian group noted.
