Italy's Apri Sviluppo Private Equity Plans 100 Mln Euro Sutheast Europe Energy Project Fund

SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 20 (SeeNews) – Italy’s Apri Sviluppo Private Equity said on Tuesday it plans to launch a fund with a target size of 100 million euro ($148 million) focusing on energy projects in southeasternern Europe in the second part of 2008.

“It’s a greenfield investment.We need six months to get the necessary authorisations, so it will not happen earlier than June next year. Then we will be collecting the money and selecting the projects,” Apri Sviluppo CEO Luciano Monti told SeeNews.

“We will start up in Bulgaria. The projects will be related to energy, renewable energy like biomass and photovoltaics,” Monti said on the sidelines of the 10th CEI Summit Economic Forum, jointly organised by the Central European Initiative and Bulgaria Economic Forum.

The fund will also focus on Albania, Romania, Kosovo, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia.
