October 22 (Renewables Now) - Spanish firm Isotrol announced last week it will be in charge of monitoring and controlling Argentine thermal and renewable energy group Genneia SA's 1.4-GW portfolio in the Latin American country.

Through its Bluence managing solutions platform, Isotrol is looking to enhance Genneia's productivity and profitability. For this initiative, the company relies on its local partner, IT firm Grupo SI.

Isotrol and Grupo SI's technical teams have already started Genneia’s assets integration into the new control centre, the company said.

At the moment, Genneia owns and operates 10 thermal power generation plants with a combined capacity of 640 MW and two wind farms of 101 MW and 51 MW, respectively. A further 10 wind farm projects are currently in progress along with a biomass plant under construction.

Worldwide, Isotrol manages 25 GW of power, of which 3.2 GW are located in South America, it noted.
