Investec Capital acquires 5% in Greencoat Renewables

January 12 (Renewables Now) - Investec Capital & Investments Ireland Ltd has purchased a 5.01% stake in wind-focused investor Greencoat Renewables Plc (LON:GRP), the latter said on Wednesday.

Via the deal, Investec Capital & Investments, part of financial services provider Investec Securities Holdings Ireland Ltd, has acquired 13.5 million shares in the Greencoat Capital LLP-managed vehicle.

Financial details of the acquisition were not provided.

Greencoat Renewables was established in February 2017 by European renewables investment manager Greencoat Capital LLP and holds wind assets in Ireland. Its shares started trading on the London and Irish stock exchanges last summer after raising EUR 270 million (USD 326m) in the flotation.

According to its website, Greencoat Renewables' seed portfolio consists of two wind farms in Ireland with a combined capacity of 137 MW.
