Invenergy bags construction loan for 148.6-MW Texas wind project
Jul 4, 2013 - US clean energy company Invenergy Wind LLC said on Tuesday it had secured financing for its 148.6-MW Goldthwaite wind park, currently under construction in Mills County, Texas.
Morgan Stanley & Co LLC served as the issuing bank and lead arranger of the construction loan, details on which were not provided.
The Goldthwaite wind farm is being built by US electrical generation contractor Blattner Energy Inc. Montana-based EPC Services Co is in charge of the construction of the project's substation and transmission line.
The 148.6-MW installation will feature 83 wind turbines of US conglomerate General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), each with a capacity of 1.7 MW and three of its 2.5-MW Brilliant machines. Once operational, the wind park is estimated to generate enough power to supply over 68,000 households.
Apart from Goldthwaite, Invenergy has five more wind parks in Texas. After completing the 148.6-MW project it will have a total capacity of over 830 MW in the Lone Star state, it said.
