Czech technical services company Tuev Sued Czech is considering to expand in Bulgaria and to offer its consultancy and technical expertise to companies producing solar energy in the country, a senior company official has said.
“We are looking to set foot on this market but that would depend on the projects that come,” Michal Svrcek, product manager for solar technologies in Central Eastern Europe at Tuev Sued Czech, told ADPnews in an interview on the sidelines of the SEE Solar 2010 conference. The conference was organised by EastEuro Link in media partnership with SeeNews and ADPnews.
He added that Bulgaria is the most attractive Southeastern European country for delivering technology for production of solar energy due to its legislative framework and the weather conditions.
"Bulgaria […] has a number of advantages, including good weather conditions and solar irradiation, and an established feed-in tariff,” Svrcek said.
Bulgaria has committed to 16% of energy by renewable sources by 2020, out of the current about 8.0%. In November Bulgaria’s Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov said that the energy sector will need to absorb roughly 15 billion euro ($ billion) of investment over the next eight to 10 years in order to meet its clean energy targets and upgrade existing sources.
"Bulgaria seems to be the most promising market for solar technologies in Southeastern Europe according to feedback we get from investors", Svrcek also said.
The conference was organised by EastEuro Link in media partnership with SeeNews and ADPnews. Among the key messages of the conference was that the investors are now looking for new markets for solar power as the previously interesting countries in Western Europe have already matured.
"Bulgaria […] has a number of advantages, including good weather conditions and solar irradiation, and an established feed-in tariff, so we are looking to set foot on this market but that would depend on the projects that come," Svrcek said.
