Japanese real estate investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) said today it has started the commercial operation of a 2.87-MW solar power system in Hiroshima prefecture on Friday.
The Ichigo Sera Aomizu ECO Power Plant, as it is named, comprises 10,848 panels and can produce around 3.34 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual demand of 920 households, the company said.
Spreading over an area of 40,484 sq m (435,766 sq ft), Sera Aomizu is Ichigo's 33rd operational photovoltaic (PV) plant in Japan. With this addition, the company now has a combined capacity of 57.10 MW in the country.
Тogether with its yieldco vehicle Ichigo Green Infrastructure Fund Investment Corp (TYO:9282), Ichigo has a total of 128 MW in 43 solar power plants, either in operation or under development throughout Japan, the company noted.
