IBC Solar delivers 57.6 kW solar hybrid systems in Majorca
Oct 15, 2013 - German photovoltaic (PV) systems provider IBC Solar AG said on Monday it has delivered two 28.8 kW PV-diesel hybrid systems for installation on two private estates on the Spanish island of Majorca.
The hybrid systems can generate power around the clock as each one consists of 120 PV modules, 24 solar energy batteries and a 40 kilovolt-amps (kVA) diesel generator as backup, IBC Solar said. The produced electricity will cover 90% of the estates' power needs and will also be used for powering heating pumps.
The hybrid systems have been installed by IBC Solar's partner Swiptec. The company, based in Leipzig, has a 30-year experience in development and installation of off-grid solar power systems and solar batteries. Swiptec's portfolio include off-grid PV systems in Malaysia, India and other locations in Africa and Asia.
