The Turkish subsidiary of IBC Solar AG has completed a 5.9-MWp solar project in the province of Gaziantep, south central Turkey, the German solar project developer and contractor said on Monday.
The project consists of seven systems of below 1 MW each. Bulent Yildiz, general manager at IBC Solar Turkey, explained that this allows the company to guarantee a simple grid connection under the current statutory regulations.
The combined project is expected to produce about 11 million kWh solar power per year which will be supplied to the public grid. The company noted that solar irradiation values in the Gaziantep region are above average for Turkey.
Delivered on a turnkey basis, the solar power plant has been handed over to the investor, Colak Energy & Koyuncu Energy. IBC Solar will also provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the project.
