IEA to install 440 MW of wind turbines in Texas for RWE
Dec 10, 2019 16:36 CESTJuly 11 (Renewables Now) - Portugal has received applications from 64 entities interested in taking part in its 1,400-MW solar auction, local media reported, citing the Minister of the Environment, Joao Pedro Matos Fernandes.
Early this week he told reporters on the sidelines of an event that demand exceeded the targeted capacity nine times. The country put to tender 24 lots, of which 22 received significant interest, one received only one offer and one gathered no interest.
The maximum price in the tender has been set at EUR 45 (USD 50.6) per MWh and is seen to drop significantly as there is huge competition. The applications for participation will now be evaluated by the government to see if they meet all the criteria established in the auction's guidelines. The minister expects the auction to be completed by August 10, 2019.
Portugal plans to hold two solar tenders annually.
