Half Moon Ventures launches solar power system at i.Park Hudson, NY
Dec 7, 2012 - US solar and wind power developer Half Moon Ventures (HMV) formally launched Thursday its first solar power installation in New York, on the rooftop of i.Park Hudson.
Once fully-operational, the system is expected to generate over 1.2 million kWh of electricity annually, equal to the power consumed by 120 household for a year. The power generated by the i.Park Hudson array would help prevent greenhouse emission equal to those of 160 cars.
The solar system will cover up to 15% of the electricity needed by the complex’s tenants.
The solar panels were installed on the rooftops of four of the eight buildings that are part of the complex. The system includes two inverters that would convert the power from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
