Ireland-based investor Greencoat Renewables Plc (LON:GRP) announced today that it has agreed to acquire a 134.4-MW wind farm project in Sweden from German wind turbine maker Enercon GmbH on a forward sale basis.
The project, Erstrask North, is currently under construction in Norrbotten County and slated for full commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2024. Enercon will stay on board to provide long-term operations and maintenance services for the wind farm once it goes online.
Erstrask North will initially operate on a merchant basis. According to Greencoat, there is flexibility for the wind farm to operate under a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) in the future.
The latest is Greencoat’s second acquisition in Norrbotten County, the first being the acquisition of the 101.1-MW Erstrask South wind farm from Enercon in October 2021.
