Green Trust, Enercon unveil plan for 500 mln euro wind farm in Croatia – president's office

ZAGREB (Croatia), February 1 (SeeNews) - Dutch wind energy company Green Trust and German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon are preparing jointly a project to develop a 500 million euro ($563 million) wind farm in Croatia, the Croatian president's office said on Tuesday.
The planned wind farm will have an installed capacity of 425 MW and will generate 1 TWh of green energy per year, the office of Croatian president Zoran Milanovic said in a press release following his meeting with representatives of the Dutch company.
The Licki Medvjed wind farm will be located near Otocac, in Croaita's mountainous region of Lika. It will be the biggest wind farm under development in the Adriatic country and its construction of the wind farm will help improve the road network and high voltage infrastructure in the region.
Besides new jobs, the wind farm will directly support with 200,000 euro annually local projects to improve economic, social and environmental conditions for living in the region.
