Green Gas buys 2.8-MW landfill gas-to-energy plant from Lime
Nov 5, 2013 - US firm Green Gas Americas Inc has bought a 2.8-MW landfill gas-to-energy scheme in Florida from Lime Energy Co (NASDAQ:LIME) as part of its plan to build a portfolio of similar projects, the parties said yesterday.
The Green Gas International unit took over the owner of the project -- GES-Port Charlotte LLC. Following the purchase, Green Gas International’s renewable energy portfolio includes projects that surpass 120 MW.
The landfill gas-to-energy facility in Charlotte County sells the generated power to Orlando Utilities Commission under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
Lime noted it had spent the net proceeds from the sale on paying off the term loan it used to finance the construction of the plant.
