Green energy accounts for 36% of power output in Spain since 2010 start

(ADPnews) - Sep 21, 2010 - Green energy accounted for 36% of the electricity output in Spain so far in 2010, the country's Secretary of State for Energy Pedro Marin said yesterday at the presentation of the 2010 energy perspectives to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

Marin added that there will be 20,000 MW installed capacity in wind power farms and 500 MW in thermosolar plants in the country at end-2010.

The executive director of IEA, Nobuo Tanaka. called upon the governments to proceed with the green policy and various stimulus packages in order to cut CO2 emissions.
