Chinese solar inverter maker Jiangsu Goodwe Power Supply Tech Co Ltd (SHA:688390) will reach production capacity of 25 GW, or 1.2 million units per year, next year following the completion of phase II of its Guangde manufacturing base.
The company, which staged an initial public offering (IPO) in Shanghai last year, held a ceremony in May to mark the start of the project, which will allow it to meet growing demand.
The new 68,000-sq m (731,946 sq ft) manufacturing facility is due to be completed in June 2022, with the production line to officially become operational in the third quarter of 2022, Goodwe says in a statement.
The investment in the construction of the plant is over USD 52 million (EUR 42.7m).
Goodwe offers inverters for residential, commercial and utility-scale systems, as well as energy storage products. It says it has so far delivered more than 2 million solar inverters and installed 23 GW globally.
