Good Energy wins permit for 4.9-MW solar park in England

Jul 4, 2014 - UK renewable energy supplier Good Energy Group (LON:GOOD) said today it had secured a planning approval for a 4.9-MW solar park in South West England.

The plant will be constructed in north Wiltshire county, the company said, without providing further details.

Good Energy is a vertically integrated utility, which sources 100% of its electricity from renewables. The company, which develops wind, solar and hydropower projects, aims to own over 110 MW of renewable energy generation capacity in the UK by 2016.

At the very end of June, Good Energy said it had submitted a planning application with the Mendip District Council for a 15-MW solar farm in Somerset County. If constructed, the facility will be able to generate enough electricity to power 3,450 local households annually, the developer calculates.
