Goldwind turbines pass trials at 49.5-MW Pakistani wind park
Nov 28, 2014 - China's Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208) said Wednesday that 33 of its 77/1500 wind turbines have passed the 168-hour trial operation period at a 49.5-MW wind farm in Pakistan.
The wind facility received clearance to commence operations after all of the company’s 1.5-MW high-temperature turbines met the strict requirements of the local government for grid-connection. The machines demonstrated an availability of over 85%, otherwise the test run would have been restarted, the wind turbine maker explained.
The TFG wind park, located in the northeastern province of Sindh, was developed by Three Gorges First Wind Farm Pakistan Pvt Ltd, part of China Three Gorges Corp (CTG). It will directly feed its output to the grids in the city of Karachi.
The wind farm will help meet electricity demand in the province, Goldwind said.
