September 28 (Renewables Now) - Chinese wind turbine maker Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208) on Sunday said it has recently signed deals for two wind projects in Ukraine with a combined capacity of 625.5 MW.

The company will equip the 337.5-MW Zophia and 288-MW Ochakov projects, located in Zaporizhia and Ochakov, respectively, in southern Ukraine. Expected to be completed by the end of 2022, the two wind power facilities will consist of 75 units of the manufacturer's GW 155-4.5 MW turbine and 60 units of its GW 155-4.8 MW turbine.

The wind parks will generate about 2.2 TWh of power a year, enough to meet the needs of more than 1,100,000 local households, the company estimates.

Goldwind said that following full completion of the projects its market share in Ukraine will likely surpass 20%.
