Germany's PNE Wind To Invest 622 Mln Euro in Four Wind Farms in Romania – Media
BUCHAREST (Romania), May 21 (SeeNews) – German wind farm developer PNE Wind will invest 622 million euro ($781 million) in four wind parks across Romania, Bucharest-based media reported on Friday.
The four wind farms, with a total capacity of 366 megawatts (MW), will be located in the regions of Moldova, Dobrogea, Banat and Transilvania, news agency Mediafax (www.mediafax.ro) said.
"Our projects in Romania have already partially started. The first out of the four wind parks we want to deploy in Romania is expected to be completed at the end of 2011," Mediafax quoted PNE Wind Romania director general Daniela Dinescu as saying.
Once the development of the projects reaches a certain stage, they will be sold, Dinescu added.
PNE Wind Romania also plans to buy land plots in the Romanian capital Bucharest, in the southeastern town of Galati and in the Black Sea ports of Constanta and Mangalia, Mediafax said. The intended use of the sites was not immediately clear.
PNE Wind is currently developing wind power projects in Bulgaria, Canada, Hungary, Ireland, Turkey and the UK, Mediafax said.
