November 13 (Renewables Now) - German renewable energy start-up Energy Kitchen GmbH, through its unit Windkraft cuatro Chile SpA, has submitted the environmental impact declaration (DIA) for the 16.8-MW LASUR 1 onshore wind project in Chile’s Biobio region.

According to public documents posted on the website of the Chilean environmental evaluation service (SEA), the project will feature three 5.6-MW wind turbines installed in the region’s Los Angeles commune.

The total investment is estimated at USD 17 million (EUR 15.4m).

The DIA for LASUR 1 has been admitted for consideration by the local environmental authority. If it passes the approval stage, construction is seen to start in April 2022.

The wind farm is expected to generate an average of 45 GWh of electricity per year, the documents show.
