German solar tender awards 205 MW at EUR 54.7/MWh

June 19 (Renewables Now) - The latest solar tender in Germany, held on June 1, awarded contracts to 204.7 MW of capacity with the average weighted support rate arriving at EUR 54.7 (USD 61.25) per MWh.

The average awarded surcharge in the previous tender for solar was EUR 65.9/MWh.

The Federal Network Agency today said the June tender was heavily oversubscribed again. It targeted 150 MW of capacity and got 105 bids for almost 556.1 MW. Total of 14 bidders were successful. The highest offer among these was of EUR 55.8/MWh and the lowest was of EUR 49.7/MWh.

The winners will build solar farms in Bavaria, Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.

The next solar tender in Germany is scheduled for October 1.
