German new solar capacity drops 63% Y/Y in Oct 2013
Dec 2, 2013 - The German Federal Network Agency said on Saturday the newly installed solar capacity fell by 63% year-on-year to 225.9 MW in October.
The number of new PV systems amounted to 10,016 in October, according to the agency.
Small-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems with a capacity of up to 100 kW accounted for the biggest share of new installations in October. Some 9,787 plants with a total capacity of 107 MW were installed, according to figures posted by the network agency.
Some 25 new large-scale solar plants totalling 70 MW were connected to the grid. In the range of 100 kW to 1 MW, there were 204 installations with a total capacity of 49 MW.
At the end of October a total of 35.3 GW of PV plants were generating electricity in Germany, the agency added.
