German Naturstom starts operation of 5.8 MW solar park in Bavaria

Jul 15, 2013 - German renewable energy company Naturstrom said last week it had brought online a solar park with a capacity of almost 5.8 MW, located in Merkendorf, Bavaria.

The solar park, which is expected to generate around 5.8 million kWh of clean electricity per year, consists of more than 23,000 solar modules.

It will thus supply some 1,800 households with electricity, Naturstrom calculated.

Citizens will be able to acquire a stake in the solar park, the company added.
