Nov 19, 2012 - German photovoltaic (PV) systems provider IBC Solar AG said on Friday it had inaugurated a 1.3 MWp solar plant in Buelten in the German state of Lower Saxony.
The plant has been connected to the local grid since the beginning of November 2012, IBS Solar said.
The facility is expected to be producing a total of 1.2 million kWh of clean electricity per year, thus covering the needs of around 300 households and offsetting 700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, the company estimated.
The sale process for the Buelten solar park will be initiated in the spring of 2013. Local citizens will be given the right to purchase a share in the solar park.
This is the first solar plant, built by IBC Solar in the state of Lower Saxony. A second one, located in the Cremlingen municipality, is currently under construction.
