German Gildemeister lands EUR 29.2m solar power orders
Dec 18, 2012 - German metal-cutting machine tools maker Gildemeister AG (ETR:GIL) said Monday its unit Energy Solutions won three orders worth a combined EUR 29.2 million (USD 38.5m) to supply solar plants and storage technology in Romania, Italy and Germany.
Gildemeister will begin work on the projects in 2012. A solar park with a capacity of 8 MW will be installed in Romania, north of Bucharest, while a second solar installation is to be built west of the capital city. Further projects in the Black Sea region are planned for 2013, the company added.
Gildemeister also agreed to sell a 6.5 MW solar park in Italy, on the Adriatic coast near Rimini, to an undisclosed German investor.
The third order includes the supply of a CellCube battery with storage capacity of 1.6 MWh for a solar project of German utility E.on AG (ETR:EOAN) on the North Sea island of Pellworm.
