GE to deliver 300 MW of wind turbines to E.ON's Illinois wind farms
Sep 7, 2011 - US engineering major General Electric (NYSE:GE), GE, yesterday said it would supply 300 MW of wind turbines for two wind farms developed by E.ON Climate and Renewables, a unit of German utility E.ON (ETR: EOAN), in the US state of Illinois.
Under the agreement, GE will deliver 188 units of its 1.6 MW wind turbines for the Settlers Trial and the Pioneer Trial wind farms. The company will also provide operation and maintenance services for the turbines.
The wind farms will include 94 turbines each and are will produce total electricity enough to supply some 115,000 homes when operating at full capacity, according to GE.
