Flex-fuel vehicle sales in Brazil fall 6.05% Y/Y in May
Jun 7, 2012 - Sales of flex-fuel vehicles in Brazil dropped 6.05% year-on-year to 233,617 units in May 2012, data of Brazil's carmakers' association Anfavea showed yesterday.
Despite the fall, the share of the dual-fuel vehicles in the total car sales in the country rose to 85.2% from 82.7% a year earlier.
Compared to April 2012, the sales of bi-fuel vehicles increased 11.46% in May 2012.
The petrol (gasoline)-fired vehicles registered a 27.88% annual drop in sales, to 25,020 units last month. Their share in the total car sales fell 2.4 percentage points to 9.1%. Compared to April 2012, the sales of these vehicles inched up 4.47%.
