Fintel Energia Group starts building two wind power plants in Serbia

Italy's Fintel Energia Group said its Serbian unit, MK-Fintel Wind, has started construction works on two wind power plants with a combined capacity of 16.5 megawatts (MW) in the northern Serbian towns of Kula and Vrsac.

The 9.9 MW plant in Kula and the 6.6 MW plant in Vrsac should be completed by November 2014, Fintel Energia Group said in a statement issued on Monday. They will generate a total of 46.2 gigawatt hours of electricity annually.

No financial details were disclosed.

However, in October Fintel Energia Group said that the wind park project to be developed near Vrsac would require capital expenses of around 200 million euro ($269.7 million).

MK Fintel Wind is a 46/54 joint venture between Serbia’s MK Group and Fintel Energia Group. It was set up in 2008 to invest in green energy projects in Serbia and the region.
