Jan 26 (Renewables Now) - Fiera Infrastructure Inc, an affiliate of Canadian investment management firm Fiera Capital Corp (TSE:FSZ), has acquired a 50% stake in a 100-MW wind farm in the Canadian province of Ontario.

Fiera Infra LP, a fund managed by Fiera Infrastructure, has purchased the 50% interest of Canadian energy company Suncor Energy Inc (TSE:SU) in the Cedar Point II wind power plant. The 46-turbine project, located in Lambton County, has been in operation since October 2015. It is co-owned with affiliates of NextEra Energy Canada LP.

"This transaction is an exciting opportunity that enhances the quality and return profile of our portfolio for the benefit of our investors and represents an opportunity to establish an important relationship with NextEra Energy Canada," Fiera Infrastructure president, Alina Osorio, said in a statement on Wednesday.

The wind farm has a 20-year fixed-price power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), formerly Ontario Power Authority, for 100% of its output.
