E.on files new application for up to 27-MW wind park in Scotland
Oct 31, 2014 - German utility E.on SE (ETR:EOA) said on Friday it had filed its final proposal to Argyll and Bute Council for an up to 27-MW wind park in southwestern Scotland.
In February 2013, E.on introduced an initial plan to erect 24 turbines at the site to the south of Ardrishaig for a total capacity of 49 MW. However, after taking into consideration community feedback and some studies, the company has revised its proposal and now intends to install just nine machines. In addition, the firm wishes to change the name of the project to Allt Rubha from Inverneil.
E.on will hold a public event on November 4 to share its amended proposal with local residents.
Scotland has set a target for 100% of power demand to be met from renewable energy sources by 2020.
