E.on Energy Services has secured a contract to provide asset management and balance of plant services for the 253-MW Amazon wind farm in Texas, the E.on SE (ETR:EOAN) subsidiary said Thursday.
US renewables developer Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), part of investment manager I Squared Capital, selected E.on for the job. The park in Scurry County will use 110 GE turbines and is expected to go online in October 2017.
"As an owner, we understand the challenges these long-term projects face, and we want to bring our 'Service with An Owner's Eye' philosophy to the Amazon Wind Farm Texas facility," said Patrick Woodson, E.ON North America's Chairman.
As previously announced, US e-commerce group Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) will buy 90% of the wind farm’s output under a long-term deal, while information management services provider Iron Mountain (NYSE:IRM) will get the other 10%.
E.on now manages, owns or runs wind parks in seven US states. Last month, E.on Energy Services announced that Novatus Energy has selected it to provide complete asset management, site supervision and balance of plant management services for 700 MW of US wind capacity.
