German renewables developer and operator Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKT) said today it has sold an 8.25-MW wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia to the Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG-Group.
The divested asset is the Niederzier-Steinstrass wind park located in the municipality of Niederzier in the district of Dueren that has been operating since September 2017. It consists of three GE turbines that produce some 2 GWh of total electricity per year and has a guaranteed EEG feed-in tariff until the end of 2037.
"With the sale, we are taking advantage of an attractive market opportunity to optimise the wind and solar parks held in our own portfolio. The sale will remain an exception though as our strategy is set clear, we will continue to expand our own portfolio as planned in the next months and coming years,” said Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG.
The seller noted it will continue to be in charge of the technical management of the wind farm.
