German renewables developer and operator Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKT) said today it has divested an 11.4-MW wind project in Hesse to Hamburg-based investment manager MPC Capital AG (ETR:MPCK).
The Heringen-Philippsthal wind park is currently under construction near the city of Heringen close to the state border with Thuringia and its commissioning is planned for the first half of 2023. From the first full year of operation, the wind farm will produce around 30 GWh of electricity annually which is enough to meet the average annual power demand of around 10,000 households. The wind plant will offset more than 20,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
After the commissioning of the plant, Energiekontor will be in charge of its commercial and technical management.
"With the sale of the Heringen-Philippsthal wind farm project, we are successfully continuing our project development and sales business as planned," said Energiekontor's chief executive Peter Szabo.
The divestment follows the sale of a 7.2-MW wind project in North Rhine-Westphalia in May to Danish investment firm Difko.
The Bremen-based developer has deployed more than 1 GW of wind and solar capacity and operates wind and solar parks with a combined capacity of around 360 MW in its own portfolio.
