Italian utility group Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) generated 112.4 TWh of clean and renewable electricity from its power plants around the world in 2022, increasing production by 3.3% year-on-year.
The company, through its dedicated unit Enel Green Power, produces clean electricity from hydro, onshore wind, geothermal, solar and plants classified as others.
Globally, production from wind farms and plants from the solar & others group increased by 14.5% and 43%, respectively. The hydro power output fell by 9.3% to 51.7 TWh. Locally, hydro power production decreased everywhere where the Enel group operates such plants, except in Latin America viewed as a whole, according to the company's operating data report for 2022.
