Italian utility Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) produced 29,951 GWh of electricity from clean and renewable sources across its markets around the world in the first quarter of 2023, recording an increase of 11.6% year-on-year.
The company categorises renewables as hydro, wind, geothermal and solar & others.
On the global level, power production from hydro, wind and solar & others rose in annual terms, while performance of geothermal plants underwhelmed. Enel operates geothermal in Italy, Latin America and North America markets.
Iberia was Enel’s best performing market during the first quarter, with all types of power plants increasing production significantly compared to the same period a year back, according to the company’s operating report.
