Enel Green Power connects to grid 5.4-MW wind farm in Zaragoza
Oct 4, 2012 - Enel Green Power Espana, the Spanish unit of Italy's Enel Green Power (BIT:EGPW), has connected to the grid its new wind farm in Zaragoza with an installed capacity of 5.4 MW, the Italian company said on Thursday.
The wind farm, located at the Acampo Hospital in the Zaragoza province in the northern Aragon region, is expected to generate more than 19 million kWh per year when the facility reaches its full-operation capacity.
The three turbines with installed capacity of 1.8 MW each will produce clean energy capable of avoiding emissions of over 14,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, saving about 7,000 tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE).
The Acampo Hospital wind farm was conceived of at the International Expo Zaragoza 2008, whose focus was water and its sustainable use, Enel Green Power said.
