December 20 (Renewables Now) - Dutch utility Eneco announced today it will be taking full ownership of LichtBlick, a German company that supplies green electricity and gas and develops smart energy solutions for households and businesses.

Eneco bought its initial 50% in the Hamburg-based firm in January 2017 along with the option to take full control. It is now making use of that right.

Kees-Jan Rameau, chief strategic growth officer at Eneco, commented that LichtBlick can help the Dutch group grow in electric mobility, energy storage and smart energy services in the German market.

Eneco noted that the transaction will not affect any of the LichtBlick employees or its activities and brand. Financial details were not provided.
