Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE) said today that it has fully commissioned some 9.6 MWp of solar arrays it installed for pork meat producer Incarlopsa in Spain.
Through its energy services division Endesa X, the utility put up over 21,000 solar PV modules atop four facilities at three Incarlopsa sites, covering a surface the size of six football pitches.
The rooftop arrays will generate around 14 GWh per year for self-consumption by the facilities, which is enough for the buildings to meet up to 18% of their electricity needs, Endesa said.
The project began in 2021 when the Spanish ham maker ordered self-consumption arrays for its facilities and closed a new contract with Endesa for the supply of power and the provision of energy management services.
