German wind and solar park operator Encavis AG (ETR:CAP) has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of over 55 MW of renewable power plants in the Netherlands and Germany.
Through an infrastructure renewables fund of its subsidiary Encavis Asset Management AG, the company purchased three photovoltaic (PV) parks and one wind farm, it said on Tuesday. Financial details on the deal were not provided.
In Germany, Encavis has bought the 28.5-MW Gieboldehausen wind park in Lower Saxony’s Gottingen district. Its eight Vestas turbines were brought online between 2016 and 2019. Project developer UKA will take care of the wind farm’s technical management following the acquisition.
On the solar front, Encavis has bought three plants across the Netherlands that were developed by Germany’s BayWa re renewable energy GmbH. The 5.7-MW Flierbelten PV farm in Overijssel province has been operational since March, while the 6.6-MW Jumaheerd park will be soon connected to the grid. The 14.6-MW Sekdoorn complex is a floating PV park installed on a quarry pond near Zwolle and is slated for commissioning in July.
The PV plants will have a combined output that will be enough to offset around 57 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year, Encavis said.
