Elecnor Jan-Sep 2011 profit rises 12.6% Y/Y on renewable ops
Nov 14, 2011 - The net profit of Spanish diversified group Elecnor (MCE:ENO) stood at EUR 86.13 million (USD 118.1m) in the nine months to September 2011, up 12.6% year-on-year, due to the company's renewable energy operations abroad.
In a press release, Elecnor explained today that the increase is attributed to the favourable performance of its wind division outside Spain and the launch into operation of a new PV solar plant in Valdecaballeros, Spain's province of Badajoz. The good performance of the concession units that operate Elecnor's electric transmission lines in Brazil also contributed to the rise.
Revenue went up by 7% on the year to EUR 1.278 billion.
The company's backlog stood at EUR 1.526 billion, up 8% year-on-year.
