EDPR's renewable production falls down 9% in H1 2020

The output of EDP Renovaveis SA's (ELI:EDPR) renewable power plants in the first half of 2020 has decreased by 9% year-on-year to 14.7 TWh.

A report released by the company on Thursday shows that the decline came because of lower installed capacity following the execution of EDPR’s divestment strategy. Almost a gigawatt in Europe and 137 MW in Brazil have been sold.

Among the firm's markets, the most significant decrease was registered in Brazil, where EDPR's generation was down by 44% to 388 GWh. The US and Canada were the only markets to show growth.

As of June 2020, EDPR managed a total renewables portfolio of 11.4 GW, of which 4.6 GW in Europe and the remainder in the Americas. The firm currently has 2.3 GW of new capacity under construction.
