November 15 (Renewables Now) - EDF Renewables’ sales in the first nine months of 2019 reached EUR 1.16 billion (USD 1.28bn), up 1.4% in organic terms, as a result of positive price effects.
The increase came even as the green energy unit of French utility EDF SA (EPA:EDF) saw its power generation volumes contract by 5.4% due to disposals of capacity at the end of 2018 and early 2019. The net installed capacity of EDF Renewables stood at 8.2 GW in September.
EDF’s revenues from renewables as a whole, including not only EDF Renewables but also hydropower plants and the renewable energy activities of Luminus and Edison, fell to EUR 2.93 billion. This is an organic decrease of 15%, mainly as a result of lower hydropower generation in France.
The total EDF sales in January-September 2019 arrived at EUR 50.49 billion, up from EUR 49.3 billion a year before.
